Wirkn is a mobile app for Apple iOS devices, with Android support coming soon, that helps job seekers find job opportunities around them. Download the app, create an account, use the GPS to find opportunities around you and apply with a video profile at any time, anywhere you are.

Employers are hiring year round for different positions and you never know when their staff will turnover so we would recommend applying for as many places that you’d like to work as possible to increase your odds of success.

Even if the employer is not currently hiring, they will see that you have historically applied to their business and would be able to go back to review past applications when the need arises.

At this time Wirkn is only available on Apple iOS with Android coming soon. We are looking at creating additional versions to be able to support additional devices and for the web but we don’t have any specific timelines at this time.

You can download Wirkn and sign up to look for job opportunities through this specific Target link. We’ll know you’re a Target program participant when you download through that link so we can provide additional assistance as necessary to help you find a job.

Note that you do not have to wait until you’re no longer employed by Target to start looking for new opportunities of course.

As a part of the Target program we are guaranteeing that you will be able to find a job using Wirkn within 90 days. In order to qualify for the guaranteed services you need to download the app and apply to at least 5 jobs.

If you are unable to find a new job after 90 days of your last paycheque and applied for at least 5 jobs you can fill out a forthcoming application to request the suite of services. The services includes training on resume writing, digital job search skills, profile assessments to determine job fit, career counselling and more provided in partnership with Drakkar, an HR specialist of over 20 years.

We are looking into this at but at this time the focus is on the shift-based workers impacted by the upcoming Target Canada store closures.

An Ambassador is a paid part-time role with Wirkn where you’ll be an advocate and a force for good to help others find work!

That would include helping spreading awareness for Wirkn as we roll out the program locally to areas impacted by Target Canada store closures, working on marketing campaigns and contributing ideas and content, supporting business operations and onboarding for clients, building relationships with the community in person and through social/digital channels, and providing customer service to name a few.

Initially, each Ambassador from the staff at each of the 133 Target Canada stores will have between 5 – 10 hours of work allocated. Depending on the success of the initial program there is an opportunity for additional hours.

Currently Wirkn is only available for Apple iOS including iPads but for the best experience an iPhone is recommended. The Android version will be released shortly. For the purposes of the Ambassador program you will need either an iOS or Android device to be able to demonstrate the app.

Wirkn pays Ambassadors $11/hr. There are additional incentives for reaching download and sign up goals. You would be paid by cheque or direct deposit.
